Only Yesterday Classic Autos is a family owned and operated business. It began its' life in Port Washington, New York with a small garage facility housing 3 vehicles. The business grew steadily until September of 2001 when the Only Yesterday family relocated to San Diego to pursue the business full tilt 12 months a year. From a modest beginning of 6,000 square feet and one technician, the business has grown to a 30,000 square foot building with 10 full time technicians. We perform maintenance and service, and full restorations on all make and manner of antique and special interest vehicles covering every era.

    Chuck Spielman, founder of Only Yesterday Classic Autos created the business in the winter of 1996. Chuck grew up in a Chevrolet family that had been in business in New York and Brooklyn for over 52 years. Chuck has been interested in automobiles ever since he was old enough to talk. After receiving his college and graduate school degrees, Chuck was commissioned a second lieutenant in the infantry, and after service in Vietnam, returned to find the family Chevrolet business was phasing out. Chuck then embarked on a career in the commercial Real Estate business in New York City and became a successful broker and later owner and operator of numerous Real Estate holdings, all the while maintaining his love of autos and dreaming of the day when he could pursue his lifetime hobby as a full time job. In the winter of 1996, this became a reality with its evolution into Only Yesterday Classic Autos.

    Laura Williams is Chuck Spielman's daughter and the Chief Operating Officer of Only Yesterday Classic Autos. Laura oversees all internal operations on a day to day basis as well as financial matters. Laura shares her father's passion for antique and classic automobiles so it was only natural that she helped to build the business and continues to work at Only Yesterday.
