1964 Pontiac GTO Convertible
Pontiac engineers John DeLorean and Bill Collins experimented with the Pontiac Tempest to create what became known as a “Super Tempest”. Powered with a 421 Super-Duty engine, this was one fabulous car. Marketing guru Jim Wangers had the vision to transfer the Super Tempest racing heritage to the street and the GTO was born.This GTO is equipped with a 389 cubic inch engine. It has 3 two-barrel carburetors and 348 horsepower and yes, it’s a 4-speed. It is equipped with just about every option you could get with a GTO in 1964.
